The Socially Awkward

Over the years I've tried to distinguish what traits in people make them weird. I'm sure at one point or another we've all encountered these people who are beyond socially awkward. Many times, you can spot them from a distance. It may be their look, a crooked smile on their face, their group of friends, an array of things. 9 times out of 10 though, you can't label it with one specific quality.

Ladies and Gents, I have found that 1/10th. I have found that one quality that helps you not only spot, but clearly identify those people who just make you uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, it's not that their bad people, and I don't really hate anybody (Well, except for Phil's ex-girlfriend, Katie), they just make you feel all weird inside when they talk to you. And this...this is the group of people I'm talking about. People who randomly sprint for no reason.

They have no reason to perform this accelerated 20 yard dash, but they do it anyway. Most recent occurrence, I was sitting in a parking lot in my car getting ready to leave. Directly next to this parking lot is a street. Not a busy street. It's in an office building area and this was not a traffic time.

There were no cars on the road, yet for some reason this person felt the need to dash across the street as though they were avoiding a train closing in on their tailcoat. If they were wearing a tailcoat. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm not entirely sure I even know what a tailcoat is.

Regardless, I've seen it done hundreds of times by people and I think more than being freaked out by such, I just want to know their motivation. What causes such sprinting? Is it out of fear? Boredom? An unusual way to attract attention? Perhaps, innate gazelle instincts? I just need to understand.

My guess is a mad shit or they think you are the weird person and are trying to get away from you.
